We take great pride in publishing this anthology, a tribute to the five decades of literary contributions made by A.J. Canagaratna and Pathmanaba Iyer to Tamil literature. Our primary objective is to share these stories with the younger generation in the diaspora, ensuring the transmission of cultural work dealing with complex experiences of conflict, migration, and exile. Beyond addressing this need and necessity, the second objective of the volume is to make previously untranslated material available to the Anglophone readership interested in Sri Lanka and South Asia.
